'Quantico' Season 2 Release Date and Spoilers: Second Episode Title and Synopsis Revealed; Ryan and Raina Join Forces Again

With "Quantico" Season 2 just around the corner, more spoilers and teasers are surfacing to keep fans on their toes. The title and synopsis for the second episode has just been leaked. And with new jobs, new classmates, new instructors, and new threats to face, our favorite Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Agent Alex Parrish (played by) is up for more action-packed adventures.

According to SpoilerTV, Quantico's second episode is titled, "Lipstick," and finds the new CIA recruits, including Alex Parrish, beefing up on countersurveillance exercises at "The Farm", the agency's secret training facility. In the "future," however, Ryan Booth (Jake McLaughlin) and Raina Amin (Yasmine Al Massri) attempt to thwart terrorists from blending in with the hostages. Sounds fast-paced, doesn't it—barely midway into the season and already we're talking hostages and terrorists!

While we're at it, let's talk about that mysterious title. What does lipstick stand for? It's been a tradition for "Quantico" to name its episodes after the last word spoken on-screen. If they followed suit with Season 2, what reason would there be to have lipstick as the last word to an action thriller show? We'll find out soon enough.

Familiar faces in Season 2

The latest trailer teaser, "New Secrets and New Threats", already bared that Ryan is likely joining Alex as a CIA recruit, as photographed in several CIA classes stills from ABC. He is also seen jumping off a helicopter with Alex, which means his involvement with the Agency may be more than just a friendly visit.

Raina, who is still part of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), comes in as a welcome bridge between the Bureau (Alex's past) and the CIA (her present). This means some of our beloved characters from Season 1 will remain largely involved in this new phase in Alex's life.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "Quantico" showrunner Josh Safran said Shelby (Johanna Brady), Miranda (Aunjanue Ellis) and the twins (Raina and Nimah Amin, played by Al Massri) will definitely be back for Season 2. He also teased of a deeper connection between the CIA and the Bureau, which will be made explicitly clear right after the commercial break. Very particular.

Other updates

Meanwhile, we can also expect new faces in "Quantico's" second season, such as Owen Hall (Blair Underwood), Dayana Mampasi (Pearl Thusi), Harry Doyle (Russel Tovey), Leon Velez (Aaron Diaz), Lydia Bates (Tracy Ifeachor), among others. The season premiere, titled "Kudove", is largely believed to pertain to the charismatic Owen Hall, who's described as the CIA instructor everyone wants to learn from.

"Quantico's" promo photos also revealed that Alex may be rooming up with Harvard lawyer Dayana Mampasi. Will they become as close as Alex and Shelby had been? We'll have our answers soon when "Quantico" Season 2 airs on September 25, 10 p.m. on ABC!
