Refrigerator Perry Death Hoax 2013: William Perry Rubbishes False Rumors (VIDEO)

William "Refrigerator" Perry has been the victim of a death hoax this week, with reports emerging that the former Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles NFL player had passed away. However, the reports were later rubbished as a hoax, and Perry was declared alive and well.

The death reports seem to have emerged from a TigerNet.com Twitter posting, which has since been deleted.

In response to the death rumors, Perry's agent, his brother, and indeed Perry himself have all confirmed that he is definitely not dead and is alive and well.

Clemson's football sports information director Tim Bourret tweeted, "Some have reported that William Perry passed away today. This is not correct. He is fine."

Perry's agent, Adam Plotkin, also told the Chicago Tribune that Perry's brother, Michael Dean, had received a lot of calls about his sibling's reported "death" but moved to confirm that the rumors were entirely false.

"I guess someone called Michael Dean and said that someone found out that someone named William Perry died, but it wasn't the Fridge," Plotkin said.

TigerNet later also moved to explain their death tweet, and claimed that their staff had seen various reports of Perry's death on Twitter, "…but it appears it was another William Perry that caused the confusion."

Perry himself also took to Twitter, "I heard about the rumors that I passed away online. #SMH. Just wanted to let everyone that they are not true and Im doing fine. Thanks guys!"
