Ronda Rousey News: Legend Randy Couture Believes 'Rowdy' Was Served Some 'Humble Pie' By Holly Holm

Former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey was recently criticized by mixed martial arts legend Randy Couture after her loss against Holly Holm at UFC 193 on November 15th.

Couture, who is also "Rowdy's" co-star in the film "The Expendables 3," did not mince his words about his opinion on the woman who was once deemed by Sports Illustrated as the "most dominant athlete alive."

In his recent appearance on Submission Radio, "The Natural" says Rousey's loss was a form of serving her some "humble pie."

"I think, you know, there are occasions where we all kind of need some humble pie and that's probably where Ronda is sitting right now," Couture said in the Submission Radio interview.

Couture adds that overconfidence may have taken over Rousey during fight night, noting that she may have underestimated Holm's stand-up capabilities.

"She went out and tried to strike with [Holm] and paid the price with an elusive southpaw with a great jab that just kept tagging her," Couture said.

Prior to her mixed martial arts career, Holm was also a professional boxer, where she is an 18-time world champion.

Rousey has been established as a global superstar during the height of her title reign, which began in 2012, at the now defunct mixed martial arts promotion company Strikeforce.

She won the title against rival Miesha Tate via first round submission. She then went on to carry over her success in the UFC after Strikeforce closed shop, racking up one highlight reel victory after another.

Her most notable wins came against Alexis Davis, whom she finished in 16 seconds; against Cat Zingano, whom she finished in 14 seconds; then against Bethe Correia, whom she finished in 34 seconds.

In an instant, Rousey appeared in television talks shows and magazine covers. Most recently, she appeared on the cover of the January 2016 issue of Ring Magazine, which is also considered as the "Bible of Boxing."
