Russell Brand Admits He's Been Living 'Hand to Mouth' After Giving Too Much Money Away

Russell Brand recently claimed he is living "hand to mouth" after giving much of his fortune away to others.

In his new book "Recovery: Freedom From Our Addictions," the comedian details his personal struggles and life after recovering from alcohol addiction. He also admitted that he has been living "hand to mouth" because he gave away a huge part of his money. "I gave too much to charity, I bought too many good things. Now I've got to work for the rest of my life," said the actor.

Daily Star points out that his confession comes just days after it was reported that he gave a £300,000 dowry for his new bride Laura Gallacher. Their union also means she has a 50% stake in his company.

On Saturday, Brand was spotted enjoying a stroll in Primrose Hill, North London with his spouse and 10-month-old daughter Mabel. Brand sweetly held onto his baby girl as she played with the necklace he was wearing. The "Get Him to the Greek" star looked every inch the doting father as he kept his daughter close to his chest, planting a kiss on her hand in one image.

The father of one sported his signature unkempt hair and wore a trendy black jacket matched with printed pants. Mabel was clad in an adorable blue onesie, while Gallacher opted for a simple black top. Based on the images, the family appeared to be having a fun time taking a break from their hectic schedule.

Speaking with Us Weekly, Brand opened up about how fatherhood changed him as an individual. The 42-year-old mentioned that having Mabel in his life made him a better man. "It has made me recognize that what I want and what I need is not important," he explained. "It's what she wants and what she needs. That's a good thing because I can be a very self-obsessed guy."
