Samsung Galaxy Note 6 Update & Specs Rumors: Includes 5.8-Inch Display, 12MP Camera, 6 GB of RAM?
Samsung fans are looking forward to meeting the Galaxy S7 but the device's spotlight may have been stolen by the Galaxy Note 6. According to The Inquirer, the successor of the Galaxy Note 5 is rumored to carry a whopping 6 GB of LPDDR4 RAM.
The rumor first surfaced on a poster found in Weibo and though there is no confirmation to it yet, the Galaxy Note 6 could be the first one to ship with this much RAM count if it turns out to be true. Aside from the RAM count, the alleged details released also show that the device may feature a 5.8-inch "Slim RGB" AMOLED display with 2560x1440 pixel resolution. That will make the device bigger than its predecessor, which sports a 5.7-inch display.
The device will also still support Samsung's S Pen stylus and will be using RGB matrix for the device's screen, as noted in GSM Arena. The source reported that the RGB matrix feature was last used in the Galaxy S II and hasn't been used since, until now, if the rumors are true. The screen is also said to be pressure-sensitive, having 1,024 pressure points. However, this detail seems unlikely because the Galaxy Note 5 already had 2,048 pressure points and having less than that would be a downgrade.
Moreover, the rumored Galaxy Note 6 is also said to sport a 12-megapixel rear camera and will come with "Super OIS Plus." For its memory storage, the device may be equipped with either 64 GB or 128 GB. The chipset to be used is not mentioned but it may come with either Exynos or Snapdragon, depending on the region it is made available. However, it is also speculated to come with the same chipset that will be used in the Galaxy S7, which is the Exynos 8990.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 may be unveiled this coming 2016 MWC but it's not confirmed yet. And since none of the specs details are official, it's best to take these reports with a pinch of salt.
