Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini Specs, Release Date: 'Miniature' Flagship to Come With Snapdragon 808
For the last few years, Samsung has been releasing handsets under the 'mini' label in order to help the flagship brand. Most of the time, these minis are aimed at the more budget-conscious market. This year will be no different.
In spite the absence of rumors that are specifically pointing at the Galaxy S6 mini, a recent report from GSM Arena has laid out the rumored specs of the device.
And it is not just some list that anyone can come up with -- the specs were based on a leaked specs sheet from a benchmarking app named GFX Benchmark.
In the report, the Samsung device with the model number SM-G9198 has not been specifically mentioned as the Galaxy S6 mini, although the specs that follow allegedly provide some clues.
Based on the benchmark file, the Android-powered device boasts a pretty compact 4.6-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, 2GB of RAM, and a rather powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset.
Other rumored specs include an 11GB or 12GB user-accessible internal storage, a microSD card slot, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box.
Making up the camera department are the 16MP primary camera with 16:9 aspect ratio and can shoot 2k clips, and the 5MP front camera that can record 1080p videos.
We'll be looking more closely at this rumored device and see whether Samsung already has a running prototype of the device.
