Nexus 6 vs Samsung Galaxy S6 Comparison of Rumored Specs: Which Android Phone Will Be Better?
Samsung has certainly been busy recently especially with the release of their new mid-range phone line, the Galaxy A series. The Note line has also been secured with the release of the Galaxy Note 4 but some are anticipating the next release in Samsung's flagship smartphone line, the Galaxy S6.
There have only been rumors about its specs as Samsung has not announced any details yet but garnering information from those rumors, how is the Galaxy S6 going to stand up against stiff competition like the Motorola Nexus 6?
First, the Nexus 6. It has a 5.96-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a display resolution of 2560 x 1440, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with a quad-core 2.7GHz processor and an Adreno 420 GPU. There's 32GB and 64GB of storage options both with 3GB of RAM with no microSD card support. It has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
As for the Galaxy S6, there are only rumors pointing to the possible specs of the flagship phone. Currently, it places the S6 with a 5.2-inch screen – most likely Super AMOLED as Samsung has done with all of its releases – with a 4K display resolution. If not a 4K resolution display, then a full HD flexible display.
Spec-wise, it's rumored to have a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset – alternatively a Samsung Exynos 8000 16-core processor. It's also to get 128GB of internal memory and 4GB of RAM. Camera is speculated at 21-megapixels with video recording at 8K resolution. It won't be running on Android Kitkat anymore and will be upped to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
While the prospect of a 4K screen on a 5.2-inch display looks promising, there are experts saying that 4K resolution at a display of that size won't be putting the resolution to its full potential. It also eats huge amounts of battery life and processor resources, which makes the Full HD flexible display more likely.
