Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 to Launch in UK This Month
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is expected to launch in the U.K. at the end of this month.
The successor to the original Galaxy Tab is being released in the U.K. first, but will quickly be released in other regions following that from the beginning of April.
None of the popular U.S. carriers have reported whether or not they will be releasing the new device, however the Galaxy 2 7.0 was approved by the FCC on Wednesday.
The filing with the organization shows that the tablet has been approved for use on AT&T's 3G bands, but that is the only hint of the device landing in the states. The fact that it has been approved for AT&T, points to the carrier being the first to release the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 in the States.
The tablet does not feature too much of an upgrade in terms of specs from the first Galaxy Tab line. The device will have a 7-inch display, a dual-core 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. For internal memory, consumers will also be able to choose between both a 16GB and 32GB model.
The most enticing feature on the Galaxy Tab 2 is its immediate out-of-the-box inclusion of Google's latest operating system Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.
That will make it the second tablet to feature Ice Cream Sandwich with the first being the Motorola Xoom that received the upgrade for the software earlier this year.
No price information has been officially released by Samsung for areas that have not yet received the tab. However, it is rumored to run around $450 in Scandinavian countries.
Samsung also recently released the smartphone-tablet hybrid the Galaxy Note. The Christian Post will be providing a full hands-on review in the coming weeks for that device.
