Samsung Galaxy View News: Company Joining Big Tablet Race
Samsung is planning to give Microsoft and Apple a run for their money – it recently announced that it will be joining the big tablet race with the Samsung Galaxy View. Set to rival Microsoft's Surface Pro tablet and Apple's recently unveiled iPad Pro, the Galaxy View was hinted at the IFA 2015 in September. According to a report in Tech Times, the tablet is much bigger than either the Surface Pro or the iPad Pro with a screen that is rumored to be 18.4 inches.
Samsung had earlier presented at the IFA 2015 an 18.4-inch tablet that has a TFT LCD screen with a 1,920 by 1,080 display resolution but did not reveal what the technical specifications of the new device were at that time. But with the recent release of the iPad Pro and the imminent release of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, Samsung may be getting ready to unveil the Galaxy View, as the device was reported to have passed RRA certification in Korea. The RRA is Korea's version of the FCC. It has also obtained Bluetooth SIG certification a few weeks before, according to a report.
Reports are saying that the tablet will have a 64-bit octa-core Samsung Exynos 7580 processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM. Its graphic processing unit will be a Mali T720. Internal storage will be 32 GB but expandable via microSD. Its rear camera is rumored to be an 8 megapixel one, while its front camera will only be 2.1 megapixel. It will have a huge battery of 5,700 mAh to power such a big display. Software-wise, it will only have Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

According to another report in SamMobile, the dimensions of the device will be 451.8 mm wide, 275.8 mm tall and 11.9 mm thick.
The tablet is being touted as appropriate for use in classroom settings, offices and living rooms. Initially codenamed "Tahoe," the tablet goes with the model number SM-T670.
