There are speculations that she will find another romantic interest when the season returns. This is due to the appearance of Jake, played by Scott Foley, in the previous episodes of the season. There are rumors that Kerry could be returning to him now that she is single again.

However, fans have been irate at how the writers and producers have been handling Foley's character. They have voiced out their opinions, which say that the writers do not know what to do with the character anymore. With that, fans will just have to continue watching to see just how his story line will pan out.

While the midseason premiere is expected next month, it was reported that the cast of the series have already begun working on the rest of the season.

Recent tweets and photos revealed that production has already started and it is evident that the cast are happy to be back on set.

A photo showcased the whole cast of "Scandal" at the set of the White House Oval Office. It showed Joe Morton, Guillermo Diaz, Scott Foley, Darby Stanchfield, Kerry Washington, Joshua Malina, Portia De Rossi, Jeff Perry, Katie Lowes, Bellamy Young, Tony Goldwyn, and Cornelius Smith Jr. being silly behind the scenes.

The caption for the photo reads, "It's a new dawn, it's a new day! Happy New Year from your #Scandal family."

"Scandal" season 5 will return to ABC on Feb. 11.
