'Scorpion' Season 4 Spoilers: is Paige and Walter's Big Romantic Moment Over?

CBS' tech-driven drama "Scorpion" opened its fourth season with Paige (Katharine McPhee) and Walter's (Elyes Gabel) romantic relationship seemingly off to a good start, that is, up until it got in the way of their work.

As revealed in the synopsis of episode 2, titled "More Extinction," Team Scorpion continues to work hand in hand with their nemesis, Mark (Joshua Leonard) to save humanity from a looming threat that could lead to extinction.

Also in next week's episode, Cabe (Robert Patrick) will make a rash decision that could be the end of his career.

For the uninitiated, the season premiere, titled "Extinction," picks up the morning after the new couple, Paige and Walter, had their secret rendezvous away from the rest of Team Scorpion. The founder of the group was very happy about his relationship that he even dreamt of a musical number with the team in it.

The musical, however, was cut short when Mark called him on his phone, asking for help. While Walter briefed Team Scorpio of the impending apocalypse and agreed to help out the same man who threatened Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas), he somehow forgot to consult or even inform his new girlfriend about his recent decision

Elsewhere in the episode, Paige started to worry about their romantic relationship getting in the way of their work and proposed to keep things professional from then on. Walter, on the other hand, maintained a more positive perspective. He said that if they are able to stop a mass extinction they should be able to make the relationship work.

Before the couple could even continue their argument, Mark approached the team and informed them about that they failed in their mission, which means a mass extinction is still likely to happen.

"Scorpion" season 4 episode 2, titled "More Extinction," airs on Monday, Oct. 2 at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
