'Secrets and Lies' Season 2 Spoilers: Detective Andrea Investigates Whole New Crime, Introducing Warner Family
American mystery anthology television series "Secrets and Lies" is confirmed to be coming back to the small screen for season 2. ABC may have taken a while to announce the renewal of the show but it's happening now and fans are excited to see more of what happens next to the main protagonist, Detective Andrea Cornell (Juliette Lewis).
According to International Business Times, the first season didn't end up so well for Cornell as she had put the wrong man in jail while trying to solve the murder of Tom, a young boy whose body was found in the woods. He was found by Ben Crawford (Ryan Philippe) who eventually became the suspect and was sentenced to prison. Unfortunately, Cornell later on found out that the real killer was Ben's daughter, Abby (Belle Shouse).
But everything was too late because Ben died in jail and Cornell never got the chance to prove the truth. In season 2, everything will be made new. In fact, Lewis and her immediate family will be the only ones reprising their characters from season 1. As noted in Variety, the series will be featuring an all-new storyline and new characters.
The pressure is also higher for Cornell as the weight of putting the wrong man in prison on her last case is still with her. She can't afford to do the same mistake. "It wouldn't bode well for the show if every season our star detective did not get the person who committed the murder," executive producer Barbie Kligman said at the Television Critics Association winter previews, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. "She's a very good detective and she will find justice."
Season 2 of "Secrets and Lies" will have viewers watch Cornell solve the murder case of Kate Warner (Jordana Brewster), the wife of Eric Warner (Michael Ealy) who is automatically marked as the prime suspect. But of course, there are other factors and people to consider.
The premiere date of "Secrets and Lies" season 2 isn't announced yet so fans will have to stay tuned.
