'Shadowhunters' Premiere Date, Cast & Spoilers: Episode 2 & 3 Synopsis Detailed


There's so much to look forward in the year 2016 and one of those is a new show from Freeform (the new name for ABC Family) titled "Shadowhunters." With its premiere date nearing, the show isn't wasting any time in capturing the audience's attention through teasers and spoilers.

According to Bustle, the supernatural series is adapated from Cassandra Clare's popular novels "The Mortal Instruments." It centers on the life of 18-year old Clary Fray who discovered that she is no ordinary person. It turns out that she comes from a line of Shadowhunters, or human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons.

The new series will feature Katherine McNamara along with Dominic Sherwood as Jace Wayland, Alberto Rosende as Simon Lewis, Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle Lightwood, Matthew Daddario as Alec Lightwood, and Harry Shum Jr. as Magnus Bane, to name a few.

A 7-minute sneak peek has also been released, giving fans a good glimpse of what to expect in the series. It showcased how Clary crossed paths with the other characters and even got in the middle of fighting against demons.

Fashion & Style also relates that the synopses for episodes 2 and 3 have been released as well. The second episode will be titled "The Descent Into Hell is Easy" and as written in the short preview, the main villain Valentine Morgensterm is alive and on the hunt for The Mortal Cup.

"With the knowledge that Valentine is alive and on the hunt for The Mortal Cup, the Institute is on high alert. Not wanting to waste time, Jace jumps into action and figures that Clary's memories are the key to finding Jocelyn and The Mortal Cup."

Meanwhile, the third episode titled "Dead Man's Party" will see Clary, Jace, Alec and Isabelle working to rescue Simon from the vampire hideout, Hotel du Mort.

"Shadowhunters" will premiere on Jan. 12, 2016 on Freeform.
