'Shameless' Season 8 Spoilers: Ian Tries to Win Trevor Back, Lip Continues Journey to Sobriety

Ian (Cameron Monaghan) is still searching for love when "Shameless" returns for season 8.

The previous season left off with Mickey (Noel Fisher) leaving Ian and heading to Mexico. Although Ian was hurt, it looks like the young Gallagher will not be waiting around for his ex to come back.

In the next installment, Ian continues his life in Chicago as he attempts to rekindle his relationship with Trevor (Elliot Fletcher). After ditching Trevor for Mickey, Ian will do everything he can to win his boyfriend back. He will have to go through extreme lengths to prove his sincerity to Trevor, who will be playing hard to get.

Ian's brother Lip (Jeremy Allen White) will also experience a lot of changes in his life in season 8. His struggles with getting completely sober continues as he tries to get his life back on track.

White recently caught up with Hollywood Life and he confirmed that Sierra (Ruby Modine) will still be a part of Lip's life. However, things will not be the same between them because Lip will be making an effort to keep his distance from her.

"I think at the start of the season he needs a boundary check, and he gets that boundary check, and then it gets pushed again. That's the dance that they do," White said, referring to Sierra and Lip's complicated relationship.

"Shameless" is now approaching its eighth season, leading many fans to wonder if an end is already in sight for the Showtime dramedy. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner John Wells admitted that possible endings have entered the writers' minds. An end date has not been set though, since they have seen an increased viewership on streaming this past few seasons.

Should the series come to a conclusion in the near future, Wells said it will not be a big event. "We're much more likely to just walk away on a Tuesday and let the audience feel like the Gallaghers are out there and doing okay, rather than some calamitous event," he stated.

The eighth season of "Shameless" premieres Sunday, Nov. 5, at 9 p.m. EDT on Showtime.
