'Shameless' Season 8 Spoilers: Monica's Death to Impact the Gallaghers in a Positive Way
"Shameless" season 8 is not expected to arrive earlier than November but fans can already expect that the upcoming season of the Showtime series will showcase Monica's death in the previous season affecting the individual lives of the Gallagher family.
The death of Monica (Chloe Webb) in the season 7 finale of "Shameless" will impact the lives of her husband, Frank (William H. Macy) and the Gallagher children in its next season. As already revealed earlier, Frank will attempt to better himself as he turns over a new leaf. While there are still who doubt on the supposed good change that Frank will adapt, considering that he has attempted to do so as well in the previous seasons, Macy has reiterated that his character will, indeed, gather himself together and move forward with his life.
"I don't want to frighten you, but Frank shaves. He has a credit card; he buys a car; he gets a job. But he's been so loaded for so long, he's a little bit crazy when he first comes back. And he is devastated by the loss of Monica. The ghost of Monica will live on and on and on, especially for Frank," Macy said.
It is not only Frank who will change for the better, though. While the past seasons of "Shameless" had the Gallagher siblings relying on the eldest Gallagher daughter, Fiona (Emily Rossum), it has been revealed that they will now have to rely on themselves and prioritize their needs before those of the others.
"Now they're all getting to the point where they have to be a healthy sort of selfish where they take care of themselves first, ahead of the others," Jeremy Allen White, who plays the role of Lip Gallagher in the series, said.
What other changes Monica's death will bring to the Gallagher household? Will Frank be able to sustain the changes he will impose on himself?
