New York City was the target of the disaster in "Sharknado 2: The Second One, while the events of "Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!" took place from Washington, D.C. to Florida. The most recent installment, "Sharkando: The 4th Awakens," saw the shark-infested storms going international. The film concluded with the Eiffel Tower getting ripped away from Paris and crashing into Niagara Falls.

In the upcoming film installment, "Sharknado 5," fans of the franchise will get to see much of North America lying in ruins while the rest of the world prepares for the inevitable — a worldwide sharknado. Hence, it will be up to Fin and his family to put a stop to the global disaster before life on the planet gets completely eradicated.

"Sharknado 5" will depict a deadly weather phenomenon of shark-infested storms as they bombard the cities all over the world. The movie will be filming in more than five countries, which include Australia and the United Kingdom.

The fifth installment in the "Sharknado" franchise is based on a script by Scotty Mullen and will be directed by Anthony C. Ferrante, the same filmmaker that helmed the first four films of the series.

"Sharknado 5" is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, August 6 at 8 p.m. EDT on Syfy.
