Sherlock Season 3 Episode 1 Premiere Air Date January 1 2014? Spoilers News Hints How Sherlock Survived (Preview Video)

The Sherlock Season 3 Episode 1 premiere air date has been the subject of intense rumors over recent weeks, with numerous dates thrown around about when the show will finally be back on air. The latest rumor has now suggested that January 1, 2014 will be the new season premiere date.

However, even though the new date got tongues wagging again, there is nothing that substantial to suggest that the date is accurate.

Sherlock executive producer, Sue Vertue, who is also the wife of Sherlock creator and executive producer, Steven Moffat, has come out to throw doubt over the new rumors.

Vertue has taken to social media networking site Twitter to post: "Not sure where #Sherlock latest rumoured tx date of 01/14 has come from. Not from me as tx date is not yet confirmed."

Although Vertue's comment seemed to debunk the rumors of a Jan. 1 premiere date, a careful look at exactly what she said reveals that she did not specifically exclude that date. She simply stated that she had no idea where that date had begun circulating from, and confirmed that the precise premiere date had not yet been officially finalized.

The newest premiere rumors were in fact started when blogger "Blogtor Who," who writes about TV shows including "Doctor Who," "Torchwood" and "The Sarah Jane Adventures," tweeted the date, according to Dan of Geek.

On Aug. 21, he tweeted: "Sherlock Series 3 Ep 1 is set in November and will air on Jan 1, 2014."

The blogger also refused to back down after Vertue's comments, pointing out that she had not specifically stated that the Jan. 1 date was wrong.

"She didn't actually deny the date. *coughs* read her tweet!" he tweeted at a fan who brought up Vertue's post.

He later also messaged another fan: "*coughs* Note: she did *not* deny the date."

The most recent comments by Vertue were not the first time she has come out to dampen premiere air date rumors. Just last week she also answered a fan concerning a previously rumored Oct. 31, 2013 premiere date for Season 3.

The fan had tweeted to her: "@suevertue @IMDb is listing #Sherlock Series 3 as airing 31 Oct. Truly or are they placeholding? #tenterhooks."

"@Glorious_Dawn @IMDb . Place holding!" Vertue responded.

In other spoiler news concerning Sherlock, Unreality TV has reported that Steven Moffat hinted how Sherlock survived "The Reichenbach Fall."

Moffat said, "He cunningly avoided the pavement. There really is only one way to avoid dying in that circumstance. My wife asked very nicely for people not to give the secret away. But not all of what we did in public – and you have to shoot these things in public – necessarily leads you to the right conclusion.

He added, "But at the same time, as Mark [Gatiss, "Sherlock" co-creator and executive producer] keeps saying, there really are only a limited number of ways he can do this. He's got to interrupt his fall before he hits the pavement, really. Short of developing a superpower which we haven't ruled out."
