'Shokugeki No Soma' Season 2 News: 'Stagiaire' Arc Sees Soma Go West

For the past few months, fans have been waiting for any announcements regarding the release of "Shokugeki no Soma" season 2, and though there is no official word yet, fans are speculating that the upcoming season will start airing this year, with the protagonist starting his ventures within the Western world of cooking.

In the first season, fans were introduced to Yukihira Soma, who had to leave his friends and childhood neighbors behind to enroll in a culinary school in Europe where he experienced one of the biggest losses that will guide him throughout his journey.

Soma didn't expect to lose to Akria Hayama, whose Naan Pot Pie Curry won the hearts of the judges. However, he decided that it is high time he presses on so he can one day be the best chef in the world.

Also called "Food Wars," the anime's upcoming season is said to focus on Soma's adventures with Western style cooking. With the events circling around the "Stagiaire" arc, fans can expect Soma's determination as he embarks on a journey full of challenges along the way.

Wikia states that the "Stagiaire" arc will see aspiring chefs going around the country to explore food-related entities. The students are expected to grab as much knowledge as they can during the travels since anyone who fails the mandatory internship program will immediately be expelled.

For his internship, he will team up with Hisako, who is apparently not happy at all to find out that she will be working with Soma. The two will be working at the Western Cuisine Mitamura, where they will find angry customers who don't seem to be pleased with either the service or the food.

Despite the pressure of working with numerous orders, Soma will prove his efficiency and will act as the restaurant's manager as he will try to conquer the day's orders and without delays.

"Shokugeki no Soma" season 2 is expected to release sometime in summer 2016.
