'Star Trek Beyond' News: Zoe Saldana Posts New Costume

Zoe Saldana's costume for the upcoming "Star Trek Beyond" film has been revealed.

Reports stated that the upcoming film will be deeply influenced by the original TV series of the franchise, which dates back to the 60s. With that, the style of the aesthetics of the film will be rooted by the vintage series.

This can be seen in the recently posted photo of Zoe Saldana's costume. She shared a photo of her characters attire on her Instagram page. The biggest change that was made was the length of the character's sleeves.

However, Saldana revealed that though her sleeve increased in length, the rest of the outfit did not. According to Yahoo News, she said, "It's still short. I'm like, 'Are you kidding me?' But you know what. I just had twins and the fact that I'm able to wear this little dress seven months later, I'm grateful!"

Saldana did explain that the popular striped are still present in the uniforms. She added, "I do have my stripes, just like each and every crew member on the ship. I'm very happy about that. But the sleeves were the only thing that got longer, as she pointed out with a smile. Fans will have to wait for the release of the film to find out what is in store for the characters.

Aside from the new costume, a new character is also expected to join the film. There were reports stating that Shohreh Aghdashloo will be joining the cast of "Star Trek Beyond." She will take on the role of the High Command for the Federation. The actress has taken part in previous projects such as "House of Sand."

'Star Trek Beyond' is expected to release in theaters this Jul. 22.
