Super Smash Bros 4 Picture Reveals a Patriotic Mario Outfit

A new picture posted up on the official Twitter for Super Smash Bros 4 showed Mario rocking an American flag-themed alternate outfit.

The image was posted earlier today and it shows Mario standing in the ring with Metroid's Samus who is wearing a white version of his outfit. See it here.

This outfit was inspired by NES Open Tournament Golf, according to Kotaku.

Other Smash pictures that hit the internet this week via the MiiVerse featured a character named Palutena performing a move in the game known as Heavenly Light on Diddy Kong.

"That said, if we're talking just about range, even that can't beat Palutena's power, Heavenly Light," wrote the games director Masahiro Sakurai. It has quite a damage field. However, this is a no-flinch attack, which means the opponents won't react to the damage."

Palutena dished out a bit more damage in the other pic.

"I talked about an attack with far reach in yesterday's post, but it didn't compare to Palutena's up smash attack! No joke, it reaches really far. It reaches so far in this shot that even the rocket barrels got blown up," continued Sakurai.

The pic of the day series is updated daily and displays various things about the upcoming Smash Bros. games for the Wii U and 3DS including characters, moves, outfits and much more. The game's director, Masahiro Sakurai, reveals a bit more about each game in all of the posts.

The new Smash Bros. games will launch for both the Wii U and 3DS later this year.

Nintendo confirmed to IGN in May that the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros will launch sometime in the summer this year. Wii U fans will have to wait until the winter to get their hands on this epic fighting title.
