Super Smash Bros 4 Roster: Sword Masters Link, Toon Link, Marth, and Pit Duel it Out in New Game
Super Smash Bros 4 will see a lot of sword play in the upcoming game with characters such as Link, Toon Link, Marth, and Pit.
These sword wielding characters are known for their masterful swordsmanship in their individual games throughout the years, and their special moves involve powerful attacks that utilize their very skill.
Link is from the classic, Legend of Zelda series, while Toon Link is from The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker. Pit is known primarily from the Kid Icarus series which is popular in Japan and did not crossover to the U.S. until recent years. Marth is from the RPG Fire Emblem franchise. Again, that series was really popular in Japan, and did not come to the U.S. until about 10 years ago.
There have been a few other characters that previously used swords in SSB that will not be in the new game or have not been announced yet. In SSB Melee for the Gamecube, there was Roy from Fire Emblem and Young Link from Legend of Zelda. In SSB Brawl for the Wii, there was Metaknight from Kirby, and Ike, also from Fire Emblem.
Other characters confirmed for the game so far are: Mario, Luigi, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Olimar, Princess Peach, Sonic the Hedgehog, MegaMan, Wii Fit Trainer, and the Villager.
Recently Super Smash Bros 4's release date may have been unintentionally leaked on a retailer's website listing.
The website Newegg.com lists the Wii U date as December 31 2014 and the 3DS version of the game as being available on May 16 2014.
SSB4 Wii U is $59.99 and SSB4 3DS is $39.99.
Super Smash Bros 4 has been one of Nintendo's most beloved series dating back to the original game for the N64. The second game arrived with the Gamecube, and the third with the Wii. This is the first game in the series to not launch or arrive early within the console's life, and also the first game to also be on handheld.
