'Super Smash Bros. 4' Rumors: Cloud Strife of 'FF7' Tipped To Arrive in December?

"Super Smash Bros. 4" will reportedly include a new character from "Final Fantasy VII" (FF7) this December.

Nintendo recently announced that "Super Smash Bros. 4" for Wii U and 3DS will include an unexpected character that will appear in the fighting video game. Cloud Strife, the "Ultima Weapon-wielding" character from "Final Fantasy VII" will appear in the game as a new playable character, according to Realty Today.

So far, Nintendo has not confirmed when Cloud will appear in the game. But an image posted by Twitter user Chalexiss hints at a December date. Chalexiss said the date in the photo came from a European Nintendo page.

The image, however, has been removed from Twitter since, Christian Today reports.

On Oct. 3, the "Super Smash Bros. 4" Fighter Ballot ended with seven characters speculated to be included in the Nintendo game. The list includes "Donkey Kong Country" characters King R. Rool and Dixie Kong, "Metroid" character Ridley, "Professor Layton" character Professor Layton, "Golden Sun" character Isaac, and "Splatoon" character Inkling, the report details.

Cloud Strife, however, did not make it to the list, so he is the least expected character to appear in the game. Nevertheless, "Super Smash Bros. 4" fans consider the Cloud Strife inclusion as a pleasant surprise, the report adds.

In a trailer titled "Cloud Storms into Battle," Nintendo unveiled Cloud Strife in "Super Smash Bros. 4" showing off his strength in his fights against other playable characters. The video clip, which was released during the Nintendo Direct event on Nov. 1, also demonstrated Cloud's famous Odin Summon move.

As of now, the Cloud Strife's official arrival date at "Super Smash Bros. 4" remains unconfirmed. When the character finally arrives, the game is expected to also add a new stage. Nintendo is expected to make an announcement about the character in the coming days or weeks.
