'Supergirl' Season 3 Rumors: Girl of Steel to Upgrade Costume for Battle with Reign?

"Supergirl" season 3 is not slated earlier in less than a month from now, but fans can already expect that the Girl of Steel will be wearing a different costume at one point in the upcoming season.

According to reports, Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) will continue to evolve in the upcoming season 3 of the DC series on The CW. The show, which debuted on CBS back in 2015, started with Kara's discovery that she is a superhuman and eventually throwing her into various action-packed scenes as she battled numerous villains.

When the DC series moved to The CW for its second season, the Girl of Steel had the chance to meet and fight along with the other DC superheroes who have their respective solo shows as well, such as "The Flash" and "Arrow" and became a part of the connected stories of the so-called Arrowverse in crossover episodes.

However, the evolution of the Girl of Steel will not stop there as it has been learned that the series will continue to introduce more changes to Kara herself. Among the changes that is set to happen when the series returns for its third season run, one that fans can expect is that the Girl of Steel will be wearing a different costume.

"There is a different suit that I will be wearing at some point this season, but I won't tell you when or to what capacity. It's cool, though," Benoist recently teased as to what fans can expect from "Supergirl" season 3.

While Benoist did not reveal anything juicy about her supposed new costume, it is suspected that the suit change will happen in line with a plot and not just for the sake of looking different. As the character is set to battle a fellow Kryptonian, Reign (Odette Annable), who has already been announced to be the next season's big bad, some opine that Kara may upgrade her costume with an armor to boost her winning chances against the said villain.

How will Supergirl's new costume look like? Will she really be needing it for her battle against Reign?

Find out when "Supergirl" returns to The CW for its season 3 on Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. ET.
