'Superhot' Release Date Announced, Pre-Order Price at $14
The game designed by Piotr Kosmala is set to be released very soon. According to IGN, time-bending first person shooter video game "Superhot" will be released for the PC this coming Feb. 25. It's also said to be coming out to Xbox One but with a later release date, which is expected to be sometime next month.
Engadget also noted that developer and publisher Superhot Team is already accepting pre-orders with a price tag of only $14 for the regular Steam version. Those who are interested with the soundtrack and a PDF art book can add $11 to get it along with the game.
The game will be available for Linux, Mac and Windows PCs. And to increase the hype of the fans, an announcement trailer was released showing some action moves and the weapons used against the enemies in the game including a samurai sword, gun and the fists. In the video, it described the mechanics of the game as an "FPS game where time moves only when you move." FilmGamesETC noted that the phrase means that "careful timing and patience is often key."
For those who are not aware of the history of the game, "Superhot" started out as a game jam prototype. Apparently, it gained interest among gamers which led to the crowdfunding campaign in Kickstarter. The team then raised up the hype by introducing to the crowd pre-released copies and several "let's play" videos, which is where they also got invaluable feedback, as noted in Kickstarter. And after a long wait, the game is now set to fully debut as an official video game.
Fans can expect that there will be no regenerating health bars and conveniently positioned ammo drops. Players will be left in the game outnumbered and outgunned. They will need to take hold of weapons from the fallen enemies in order for them to shoot, slice and move skillfully through incoming bullets that are actually in slow-motion.
