'Switched at Birth' Season 5 News: John and Kathryn to Part Ways?

The upcoming season of "Switched at Birth" is on the way and filming has recently started, which means fans will soon be lost once more in the story of two girls struggling to live again after being switched.

The fifth season is expected to pick up on the story in season 4's finale where Bay (Vanessa Marano) received a phone call. The premiere episode of season 5 is titled "The Call," which will obviously dig into the details of what Bay found out during the call.

As of now, there are not too many details on the premiere episode, but rumor has it that the phone call might have been about John (D.W. Moffett) and Kathryn (Lea Thompson), who have been in the rocks in season 4.

Due to the financial issues that the Kennish family is experiencing, John and Kathryn started putting their marriage on the line. For the most part, Kathryn can't be blamed since fans very well know that she has always stuck with John. On the other hand, John might also need a little bit more of understanding since he is already pressured with finances.

With John and Kathryn having big fights, both Daphne (Katie Leclerc) and Bay are obviously affected. It is speculated that the two girls might possibly try to help their parents patch things up before a divorce gets mentioned.

The upcoming season is also rumored to look at the family life of Toby (Lucas Grabeel) and Lily (Rachel Shenton). As they raise their child, struggles are imminent and it is expected that a big blow will come to the couple sometime in the season.

Meanwhile, details on what other storylines will be introduced are scarce at the moment, but with the start of production, information is expected to flow out in the coming months. Now that the cast are adults and a huge time jump has been experienced by fans, it is also speculated that the season will be much more emotional than the previous ones.

"Switched at Birth" season 5 will debut sometime in 2016.
