Taylor Swift Attends Hugh Jackman Play, Takes Photo, Sends Gifts to Fans
Taylor Swift took some time off her busy schedule to spend time with her family. Swift was photographed with her parents and brother leaving a restaurant earlier this week and attending a Broadway play starring Hugh Jackman.
The pop star and her family attended a matinee performance of the Oscar nominee's play "The River" on Wednesday and stayed for an after-show auction for Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS.
Swift donated $6,000 in exchange for Jackman's shirt, which he wore during the performance. It was reported that the movie star not only accepted her donation, but he also raised an additional $6,000 from another bidder and even threw in $6,000 himself.
The singer's rival in the bidding ended up with another prize: a chance to meet both Jackman and Swift backstage.
The "X-Men" star later took to Instagram to post a picture of him and Swift with the caption, "Lovely to see @TaylorSwift13 and her family. Merry Christmas Eve to all xoxx."
The singer has had a great year so far as she just released her newest album, 1989, and her recent performance at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was highly commended. Swift has also been very generous to her fans this year as Billboard reports that 32 of her Tumblr followers have received FedEx boxes in the mail from her. The lucky recipients took to social media to reveal Swift's presents and called the event "Swiftmas."
On Dec. 20, 16-year old Rebecca Cox received a 31-pound package from the singer containing a Victoria's Secret duffel bag stuffed with exclusive merchandise, a Fujifilm Instax Mini 90 Polaroid camera with four packs of film and picture frames, bath and beauty products, clothes, a large stuffed animal fox, blankets, throw pillows, candles, $200 worth of gift cards, and a Christmas sweater.
Cox's friend Victor Vinson, 17, also received a package from Swift which reportedly contained a Polaroid camera with film, a box of cookies from the singer's favorite NYC bakery, four matte black Barneys boxes containing sweaters and hoodies, Ray-Bans, a blanket, a beanie hat, and a Burberry scarf.
Personalized notes from Swift were reportedly included on almost every gift. On Vinson's Ray-Bans she included a note which said, "James Dean wore these back in the day. They never go out of style."
"There's no one in the music industry who has a big heart as she does," said Cox to Billboard. "You can tell that she wrapped all the gifts personally."
