Taylor Swift Runs Into Ex Jake Gyllenhaal at Golden Globes
It's almost certain that celebrities who are friends, enemies, or exes will always cross paths in Hollywood, especially during awards season. That's exactly what happened at the Golden Globes to Taylor Swift when she allegedly ran into one of her exes, actor Jake Gyllenhaal.
Swift reportedly bumped into Gyllenhaal at the Chateau Marmont during an afterparty, and rather than avoid him, the singer ran up to him and gave him a hug, according to Us Weekly.
A source tells the website that Globe nominee Gyllenhaal danced with several women at Chateau Marmont that night, including British singer Rita Ora and actress Malin Akerman. Before 2 a.m., Swift arrived at the party with her friends, and another eyewitness tells Us Weekly that upon seeing each other, the two were completely cordial.
"Taylor and her friends arrived at the Chateau Marmont just before 2am and Jake was there in the lobby," said the source. "He was leaving as she was coming in. Taylor ran up and gave him a big hug and they caught up. They were smiling and looked like any old friends catching up."
Gyllenhaal and Swift dated for two months in 2011, and Swift reportedly even spent Thanksgiving that year at his sister Maggie's Brooklyn home. It was said that the actor broke up with the singer over the holidays.
Swift's breakup with Gyllenhaal inspired several songs from her 2012 hit album, "Red", including the hits "All Too Well" and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together."
Back in 2013, Swift told New York Magazine that the actor reached out to her about the album.
"He was like, 'I just listened to the album, and that was a really bittersweet experience for me. It was like going through a photo album.' That was nice," Swift said.
