'Teen Wolf' Season 5B Spoilers: Crystal Reed Returns, To Play Different Role

Fans of the television series "Teen Wolf" will be seeing a familiar face again in one of the upcoming episodes. According to Entertainment Weekly, actress Crystal Reed is set to return in the second half of the show's season 5.

Those who have loyally followed the show would know that Reed played the role of Allison Argent since the first season. Unfortunately, her character was heroically killed off at the end of the series' third season. Since then, fans have been hoping that Reed will make a comeback. The "Teen Wolf" universe has granted their request as it is already confirmed that the actress will be returning as a guest star.

However, BuzzFeed, who first reported the news, said that she won't be back as Allison anymore. Instead, the 30-year-old actress will be taking a new role in the name of Marie-Jeanne Valet, an ancestor of the Argent family line who lived in France in the 1700's. She will be featured in an episode titled "The Maid of Gevaudan," which is said to be heavy with flashback scenes as it will cover the events of the past.

The source divulged that Reed initially did not want to go back to the show anymore as she believes that the ending to Allison's story was perfect for her. But when executive producer Jeff Davis gave her a preview of the role that she was doing, she was sold on the idea.

"Basically, Jeff just said, 'France in the 1700s,' and I was in," Reed said.

The upcoming episode will also give a viewers a little background about The Beast of Gevaudan, which Scott (Tyler Posey), Stiles (Dylan O'Brien), Malia (Shelley Hennig), Liam (Dylan Sprayberry), and Lydia (Holland Roden) will be facing for battle. They are trying to find out the answer to defeating the monster, which is the same beast that Marie-Jeanne Valet faced back in 1765.

"Teen Wolf" season 5B airs every Tuesday at 9 p.m. on MTV.
