Telltale to Release 'The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Collection' in December

The original "The Walking Dead" series by Telltale Games is set to arrive to PlayStation (PS) 4 and Xbox One before the end of this year. Titled "The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Collection," the upcoming release will include all the 19 episodes published so far, as well as a visual upgrade for the past seasons.

As announced by Telltale, "The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Collection" will include the first three seasons of the series and the anthology "400 Days." Also coming with it is the three-part mini-series titled "Michonne," which focuses on the titular character from "The Walking Dead" and explains what happened to her between issues #126 and #139 of the comic series. Meanwhile, the spinoff DLC released for season 1, "400 Days" tells the stories of a small group of survivors after the apocalypse.

Recently, Telltale has released a sneak peek at the visual upgrade that's coming to the previous seasons of the series, which includes side-by-side comparison shots. The company also announced that the inclusion of the first three seasons of "The Walking Dead" series in the upcoming collection is due to the fact that seasons 1 to 3 are the games that fans of the series are most familiar with.

The first season of the game series was released in 2012 and was widely acclaimed by critics. It centered on the story of Lee and Clementine, who developed a father-daughter relationship in the wake of the zombie apocalypse.

The sophomore season followed Clementine as she learned who to trust and not to trust among the new survivors. While season 3 still starred Clementine, it also introduced Javier, whose mission was to save his family.

According to reports, the release of the series collection will serve as a primer for the fourth season of "Telltale's The Walking Dead," which will arrive in 2018.
