Teresa Giudice Prison Sentence News: Real Housewives of New Jersey Star Will Benefit From Early Release Date

It's been four days since "Real Housewives of New Jersey" reality star Teresa Giudice reported to prison to serve her 15-month sentence, and according to her lawyer, Giudice is planning to take it "one day at a time" as she tries to adjust to life behind bars.

Now, a new report by People says that Giudice may be back in New Jersey sooner than expected as she will now be released on Feb. 5, 2016, which is two months shy of her original 15-month sentence.

The inmate locator on the Federal Bureau of Prisons website states Giudice's status and revised release date. The reason for her early release from prison was not specified.

The reality star's lawyer, James J. Leonard Jr., previously said to Us Weekly that there is a possibility of an early release for her.

"You do 85 percent of your term. So 85 percent for her is 12 and ¾ months. Then, you are eligible on that date for halfway house or home confinement for another 6 months or 10 percent of her sentence … She's aware of that," said Leonard.

Giudice's family will be able to relay this good news to her as New York Daily News reports that her husband Joe and their four daughters, Gia, 14, Gabriella, 10, Milania, 8, and Audriana, 4 will be visiting her this weekend in prison. A Danbury official told the website that Giudice's family is only allowed to see her a maximum of three days a week, and with the children's school schedules they will most likely be able to visit their mother between 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. only on weekends.

The source tells the website, "You can stay the day, but it's unlikely when it gets busy. If there are too many visitors, they tell you time is up."

Leonard told New York Daily News that Giudice has already made friends in jail and that she seems to be in a "positive" state of mind.

"She's getting acclimated well and says that everyone's being nice to her," he says.

The reality star reportedly does not have privileges to make outgoing calls yet, but she can receive incoming calls. She will also have no access to the Internet, but she will be able to send emails through the prison's TRULINCS system, which lets emails be exchanged between inmates and the general public, but in a secure manner. All messages are limited to 13,000 characters and are read by a jail officer and approved before they are sent.
