'The Affair' Season 3 News, Cast Updates, Spoilers: Noah's Sister To Recur in Season 3; New Love Interests for Noah and Alison?
Looks like a spate of new characters are jumping on Showtime's "The Affair", which stars Dominic West as Noah Solloway and Ruth Wilson as Alison Lockhart. "NCIS" star Jennifer Esposito will be returning to the drama for its third season in a recurring role. She plays Nina Solloway, Noah's sister, and will be appearing in at least four episodes.
We'll see her immediately during the "The Affair" Season 3 premiere on Nov. 2. In case you need a refresher on how she plays into the convoluted relationships in the series, Nina appeared in three episodes in Season 2 as Noah's sister. During her "The Affair" debut, she explicitly said that she isn't fond of Noah's ex-wife, Helen (played by Maura Tierney). Brother and sister got into a fight after Nina asked why Noah wanted full custody of his kids.
Esposito is no stranger to television acting. She's a series regular on "NCIS" Season 14. She's also appeared in "Spin City", "Samantha Who?" and "Blue Bloods."

Esposito will join the long list of new characters to be introduced in "The Affair" Season 3. "Desperate Housewives" alumnus Jonathan Cake will be joining the Showtime drama series as "Furkat", a Brooklyn-based photographer. He will later on become Whitney Solloway's (Julia Goldani Telles) new boss and love interest. He's described to have a "polarizing" attitude, no doubt to highlight Whitney's similar disposition as well.
Just like Whitney's old beau, Scotty Lockhart (Colin Donnell), Furkat is expected to cross Whitney's parents, Noah and Helen. Fans would recall that Scotty was killed in a car accident, the victim of the collective mistakes by Helen, Noah, and Alison. It's this bad state that we expect our heroes to be in come "The Affair" Season 3.
New love interests for Noah and Alison as well?
Meanwhile, Ray Burnet ("Ray Donovan") will be playing Mike Cornwall, a graduate student and a campus "Lothario", according to SpoilerTV. BAFTA award-winning actress Irene Jacobs is also set to join "The Affair" Season 3 as Juliette de Gall. SpoilerTV described her as someone who will "help Noah process a trauma in his life", presumably pertaining to his role in Scotty's death.
Both actors are expected to cross paths with Noah and Alison. As to the extent of the newcomers' role in the couple's lives, reports speculate that Cornwall and de Gall are new love interests for Alison and Noah, respectively.
We'll find out as soon as "The Affair" Season 3 airs on Sunday, Nov. 20, 10 p.m.
