Star of "The Affair" recently shared a hint on what the third season of the hit series could be presenting.
After winning Best Actress in a series during the Golden Globes last weekend, Maura Tierney teased fans about what season 3 of "The Affair" could bring.
When she was finished accepting her win, she took the opportunity to share some details about the show's future. She stated, "The show is going to change next season — the structure of the show is going to change in an exciting way."
She explained that the series will soon be evolving as it shifts in its narrative structure. With that, fans can expect a more captivating story line that will fully utilize all its characters.
Tierney also took the time to commend the writers of the series. She stated that they were able to challenge her artistically, which made her excited to take on the role of Helen.
According to Variety, the actress recently shared some insight about what her character will experience in the season to come. She explained that the the events in season 2 shaped her character, which will be seen when the series returns.
She stated, "I think of her as a woman struggling to handle a very difficult situation. I think she doesn't know how to gracefully handle all of this bad stuff. I don't think she's consciously trying to be graceful, but I want her to achieve that because I think that shows a lot of integrity if you can handle tough times with a certain amount of equanimity."
With that, Helen will definitely be seen developing as a character after her many struggles in the previous episodes of the series.
While there has yet to be an official release date for the series, "The Affair" season 3 is expected to premiere on Showtime this fall 2016.
