'The Affair' Season 4 Spoilers: Cole to Gets New Chance at Love, But Not with Alison

Cole (Joshua Jackson) is going to meet an interesting lady who will tickle his fancy in the upcoming season of "The Affair."

According to TVLine, two new faces are set to appear in the new instalment. Both characters will be involved in Cole's storyline, one to become closer to the man than the other. It has been reported that Phoebe Tonkin will be joining the series, alongside actress Amy Irving. Tonkin will play the role of Daphne, the protégée of a talented sculptress from Morro Bay, Nan Perino (to be played by Irving).

Nan is said to have a "mysterious connection" with Cole's father. The two are set to spend time together, which means Daphne will be there too. The younger woman will reportedly "guide" Cole though his journey to find answers to his life questions. It is speculated that they will soon fall in love. Perhaps, this will be Cole's chance to finally become happy.

Cole's marriage to Alison (Ruth Wilson) turned into a nightmare to him when she dumped him for another man. His relationship with Luisa (Catalina Sandino Moreno), on the other hand, has been fraught with tension since she could not fully trust him. Daphne may be the woman he has been waiting for his whole life. With her help, he can have the healing he deserves.

Meanwhile, spoilers for season 4 indicate that those who committed adultery will not be getting their happy ending. Alison and Noah (Dominic West) will reportedly pay for their sins by regretting everything in the final instalment. The two destroyed their family when they decided to have an affair. Eventually, their relationship fizzled out. They wanted to return to their spouses to seek forgiveness, but it was too late.

"The Affair" is rumoured to return in 2018 for its fourth season.
