'The Americans' Season 4 News: Keri Russell Drops Hints About Plot

The upcoming season of "The Americans" promises episodes full of love, emotions, and everything else concerned with parenting as actress Keri Russell shared what she thinks about season 4.

According to TV Guide, Russell, who plays the role of Elizabeth, said during the Television Critics Association winter press tour that her character will have some emotional rides in season 4 after the shocking season 3 finale, which left the family in an awkward situation.

During the finale of season 3, Paige (Holly Taylor) shared the biggest family secret to Pastor Tim (Kelly Aucoin). Probably out of the pressure and perks of being the child of spies, Paige had to express her feelings and she found Pastor Tim the perfect shoulder to lean on.

"I think the interesting thing for me this season has really been about opening Elizabeth's perspective...I think there is a new opening for Elizabeth, especially with Paige," Russell explained.

The actress also mentioned that that there is still anger between Elizabeth and Philip (Matthew Rhys) after the couple decided to let their daughter know about their true professions. While it is yet to be revealed how Pastor Tim's knowledge about Elizabeth and Philip will affect the upcoming season, it is expected that the family life will totally change.

Executive producer Joel Fields also shared his thoughts about the spies' home after season 3. "The game has certainly shifted in terms of parenting Paige," he said, adding that Paige's parents will be focusing on how the family will stick together after their daughter discovered something too huge for her to handle.

Another story that will be featured in the much-awaited season is Nina's (Annet Mahendru) fate while jailed in Russia. Fans are longing for any details about how her life will be now, but unfortunately, Fields didn't provide any information.

On the other hand, the EP had something to say about an issue that some fans have been wanting to know more about. According to Deadline, Fields said of Henry (Keidritch Sellati), "There'll be more for him as the season unfolds."

Season 3 shed some light on how Henry was dealing with everything else on his own. Fields said it was interesting to play with how the younger Jennings child opens up possibilities for threatening storylines as he spends time with his neighbor.

"The Americans" returns on FX on March 16.
