The actor has also allegedly already spoken to someone at Marvel in the hope of pushing for his famous character from the X-Men involved, according to Worst Previews.

"I said, 'Can this happen?' and he goes 'Look, it's not gonna be easy.' But I'm optimistic, I find it impossible that there's not a way to bring Iron Man, all the 'Avengers' characters, Wolverine, the 'X-Men' characters, Spider-Man, and somehow get them together," he stated.

Jackman's Wolverine character has been a big success, starring in the X-Men film series, as well as starring a spin off set of films specifically focusing on Wolverine himself.

The actor is currently busy doing the rounds promoting his new film "The Wolverine," which looks to be another big hit at the box office.

According to 20th Century Fox, the movie is "based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world, he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality."

The Avengers was a massive smash hit worldwide and brought together many comic book fans' favorite characters including Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Hulk, Black Widow and Nick Fury.

Fans immediately were desperate for a second installment, and the studios quickly moved to announce The Avengers 2, which if everything goes well should be released in 2015. It is already touted to include a number of new superhero characters, including some X-Men characters, with both Quick Slver and Scarlett Witch being named in rumors.
