'The Bachelor' Spoilers, Recap News: Ashley and Kelsey Battle it Out in 2-on-1 Date
Last Monday's episode of "The Bachelor" was one of the most shocking and dramatic episodes yet, as Chris Soules eliminated two more contestants — not at the final rose ceremony, but during a date.
The episode picked up where the show left off a week ago, with Kelsey on the floor, suffering from what she says is a panic attack. She requested to speak with Chris, and tells him that she felt overwhelmed because he mentioned to the other women what they talked about, specifically when she revealed to him that she was a widow. The other girls are not convinced and no one makes a move to help Kelsey.
"Another conniving move by Kelsey," says Ashley. Carly says that the timing of her panic attack is very suspicious. They finally get around to the rose ceremony, and Samantha and Mackenzie were eliminated.
The following week, Chris and the ladies are in Deadwood, South Dakota. Chris goes on a horseback riding date with Becca. Then, in a surprising move, instead of giving a rose during the post-date cocktail party, Chris takes Britt away to a Big and Rich concert and gives her a rose on stage in front of the huge crowd gathered.
When Britt goes back to the house, the ladies are devastated and some of them start to cry, and Kaitlin bemoans Britt's connection with Chris.
Next is Chris's two-on-one date with Ashley and Kelsey. They went on a helicopter ride and passed by Mount Rushmore, then had a picnic in the Badlands. Both ladies were not talking until Chris whisked each of them away for some alone time.
Ashley immediately tells Chris that Kelsey is a fake and that all the women hate her. Chris then talks to Kelsey and tells her, "The person I'm gonna marry, I want them to be able to handle social situations well. Someone who people want to be around. Ashley just told me that you're a big fake. That scares me."
Kelsey cries and denies this. She returns to the picnic table without Chris, and she and Ashley exchange icy glares. Unable to stand the silence any longer, Kelsey blurts out, "I know what you did."
Ashley then rants at her and says that if Kelsey doesn't think that she's smart enough to see through her act, then she's "hilarious."
Ashley then goes to Chris and tells him that she's angry with him for revealing their conversation to Kelsey. Chris sends her home. She sobs and tells him that she tried to help him.
At the hotel, the producers remove Ashley's suitcase from the room and the women deduce that Chris picked Kelsey. But later, Chris sends Kelsey home as well.
When the women saw the producers carrying Kelsey's suitcase, they all cheered. And in the Badlands, Chris got into the helicopter, and left Ashley and Kelsey there.
"The Bachelor" airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
