'The Bachelor' Star Nick Viall to Appear on 'Speechless' in a Guest Starring Role
Nick Viall is making a TV comeback, but it isn't on "The Bachelor."
Nick Viall is most prominently known for his appearances on "The Bachelor" franchise, and now, he will be returning to ABC, not on a reality TV platform but in a scripted role for the show "Speechless." According to ABC, Viall would be playing the role of a hunky B-movie actor named Tyson who will befriend Micah Fowler's character, JJ.
"Nick will play a hunky B-movie actor who takes his craft way too seriously," ABC revealed. "After befriending JJ (Micah Fowler) on a set, 'Tyson' summons all his powers for the performance of a lifetime, deceiving Maya and Jimmy to get JJ out of hot water," the company's statement added.
He will be acting opposite Minnie Driver and John Ross Bowie on the episode. "Speechless" revolves around a family led by Maya (Driver) and her husband Jimmy (Bowie) as they navigate through life with a special needs son (Fowler).
This will be Viall's first scripted role ever since he first appeared on "The Bachelor" franchise. It should be remembered that the 36-year-old had appeared in two seasons of "The Bachelorette" as one of the contenders for Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe's hearts. After failing to find love on "The Bachelorette," he would, later on, try once more in "Bachelor in Paradise." His biggest break, however, was landing the title role of "The Bachelor" during it's 21st season which ultimately ended with him bending one knee Vanessa Grimaldi.
Unfortunately for the couple, their relationship was shortlived which officially ended last August. Just a few weeks ago, he admitted that being single "sucks" saying: "It's never fun. Being single kinda sucks, but what can you do? I've always been the internal optimist of pushing forward so I'm fine. What can you do? Obviously relationships can be great and lovely and amazing and if they don't work out, you just kind of have to get through it."
