'The Blacklist' Season 5 Episode 9 Spoilers: Liz to Meet Tom's Mother
Liz (Megan Boone) is set to meet Tom's (Ryan Eggold) biological mother, the enigmatic Scottie Hargrave (Famke Janssen), in the upcoming winter premiere of the current season of "The Blacklist."
Recent spoilers reveal that Janssen would be one of the guest stars in the episode titled "Ruin." She played Tom's mom in the spinoff "Redemption." The series dwelled on Tom's journey to clear the mystery of his birth. Before he and Scottie reunited, they had to deal with betrayals and deaths, especially from Tom's father, Howard (Terry O'Quinn). Scottie's appearance in the new season of "The Blacklist" is expected. Many fans are looking forward to the scene where she speaks to her son's widow and relive his memories.
Liz's meeting with Scottie is likely going to be heart wrenching one. The synopsis reveals that she will struggle a lot in accepting that her husband is truly gone. Liz's pain will push her to abandon her old life and start anew somewhere, a place where people will not recognize her. She wants to be alone and deal with her grief without the presence of the people who may or may not be instrumental in Tom's demise. Although she has yet to be introduced to Scottie, Tom has shared with her what he did when he went to search for his parents.

As expected in the NBC series, trouble will find Liz where ever she is. A new threat will reportedly appear that will test her mettle. Liz will have to draw on her emotional and physical strength to survive and even then, there is no guarantee that she will come out okay after everything. Meanwhile, season 5B is expected to reveal more of Liz's own mother, the mysterious KGB agent, Katarina. Although executive producer Jon Bokenkamp did not confirm if the bones in the suitcase was hers, he confirmed that this mystery would soon be cleared up.
