'The Expendables 4' Rumors: Hulk Hogan Playing the New Barney Ross?
In what could be one of the most daring moves that the set of "The Expendables 4" will ever make, it is said that fans will have to say good-bye to Sylvester Stallone as a new Barney Ross will rise from the ruins.
Recent rumors suggest that Stallone, who had a great start this year after getting a Golden Globes for his performance in "Creed," will be handing over the rod to Hulk Hogan, who has been confirmed to join the amazing "Expendables."
The rumor has been going for days, and while there is no confirmation from Stallone or anyone from the team, fans continue to ponder on the news. The shock is reasonable since the actor and producer has done quite an amazing job portraying the role of a team leader. On the other hand, Hogan's entry could be a breath of fresh air for some.
The rumor first started after costar Terry Crews commented earlier this month that he thinks Stallone will give up the fourth installment of the hit franchise to pursue "Creed 2." It is speculated that production for the sequel is already in the early stages and Stallone is very much hands-on.
Referring to the possibility of Stallone leaving the "Expendables" franchise, Crews told Slash Film: "He might, but whatever Sly says I'm doing." He further explained that he thinks the award-winning actor now has other options, aside from the "Expendables."
This could be true, but at some point, there is doubt that Stallone will pack up his bags and forever leave the set of a project he has worked on for the past couple of years. He will possibly give up his role to Hogan or another actor, but it is expected that if he does, he will remain behind the scene, working on the script and other curtain tasks.
It was initially reported that Hogan will be playing the role of a villain, but rumor has it that his role has been taken over by Dwayne Johnson.
"The Expendables 4" is expected to release sometime in 2017.
