'The Flash' Season 2 Spoilers: Iris and Francine Bonding
Fans have been wondering about just how Iris will be dealing with her mother in the upcoming episode of "The Flash" season 2.
It was revealed that Iris, played by Candice Patton, will be seen having a conversation with her mother, Francine, played by Vanessa Williams. Despite the rocky relationship between the two characters, reports show that they will be sharing a tender moment in the upcoming episode. It was revealed that it will help Iris become closer to her brother, played by Keiynan Lonsdale.
According to TV Guide, the synopsis for the upcoming episode, titled "The Reverse-Flash Returns," reads, "Cisco gets a vibe of Eobard Thawne, but Barry and the team don't believe it. But after an attack at Mercury Labs, Christina McGee confirms that the Reverse Flash is back. Meanwhile, Iris and Francine share a nice moment that brings Iris closer to her brother."
With that, fans can expect that the mother and daughter's relationship will progress as the season continues. It is suspected that the reason for their sudden closeness could be the fact that Francine's health is in the line. It was previously revealed that Francine is suffering from MacGregor syndrome, which is a fictional disease that has affected other characters of the DC Universe.
Patton recently had an interview with IGN where she explained some details about their relationship. She said, "Emotionally Iris is surprised by how difficult it is to see her mother so sick. She had resolved in her mind that she never wanted to really see Francine ever again. [But] as she realizes how sick Francine is, it comes as quite a surprise to Iris how difficult it is to see her mother dying."
With that, fans can expect that the upcoming episode of "The Flash" season 2 will be filled with emotions and drama. Episode 11 of "The Flash" season 2 airs this Jan. 26.
