'The Flash' Spoilers: Candice Patton and Carlos Valdes Tease Iris-Cisco Conflict

When "The Flash" returns for a brand new season, the team, particularly Iris (Candice Patton) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) will not be on the same page. The stars dished on their character's conflict.

At last week's Heroes and Villains FanFest in New Jersey, Patton and Valdes teased the clash between Iris and Cisco. According to Valdes, viewers should be able to catch the pair butt heads in the first episode of season 4.

Patton said that the rift has something to do with Barry/The Flash (Grant Gustin), specifically about the Speed Force. The actress shared that both Iris and Cisco will have different opinions on the matter, suggesting that the relationship between the two gets tenuous because of that.

In a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, Valdes talked about this disagreement. But at that time, he did not name Iris.

"Most of the energy on the team is toward getting Barry back, and Cisco may or may not have some things up his sleeve with regards with how to make that happen," Valdes said. "But there is a member of the team that's not on board, and that ultimately makes the mission to get Barry back a lot more difficult."

As revealed in a trailer for the upcoming season, the titular hero will return to his city. To celebrate his return, Cisco even made him a new suit. Though he is now back with his family and closest friends, Iris, Cisco, Joe (Jesse L. Martin), Wally (Kaiynan Lonsdale), and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), something is off about him. It appears that his little trip has changed him, but it might be for the better.

The teaser suggests that the superhero has been "reborn" perhaps into a better and stronger fighter.

"The Flash" season 4 premieres Thursday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
