A trailer for "Oliver" reveals a surprising twist for the organ pickup. Pressed for time, the doctors will be forced to operate in the middle of the road.

While doctors Brown and Murphy prepare for surgery, a police officer overseeing the situation admits, "This is better than having a baby in my car."

Created by the team behind "House," ABC's new medical drama follows the story of a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome, Murphy, played by Highmore. With his troubled past, this brilliant young mind is unable to personally connect with colleagues. Despite their skepticism, he will gradually win them over with his skills and his desire to save lives.

In terms of ratings, "The Good Doctor" managed to rake in more viewers, from 11.4 million to 16.8 million, making it the second largest gain for a broadcast series premiere. In the 18-49 demographic, the show advanced by a positive 1.5 rating.

"The Good Doctor" season 1 episode 3, titled "Oliver," premieres Monday, Oct. 9 at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
