'The Good Wife' Season 6: Episode 11 'Hail Mary' Recap, Episode 12 Synopsis

"The Good Wife" returned for its midseason premiere last Sunday, and the episode titled "Hail Mary" sees the team at Florrick/ Agos/Lockhart doing one final play to help Cary, while Alicia practices for the State's Attorney candidates' debate.

Cary talks to Bill Kroft, a man that Alicia hired to help him prepare for a life in prison. Cary tells him that he has four years to serve in jail, and Bill advises him to find a white convict that he can trust and who can vouch for him. Kalinda goes to Bishop to secure a friend for Cary. After their last interaction, Bishop is not thrilled to grant her a favor, but he agrees to find someone for Cary.

Kalinda gets to talk to Ray, Bishop's contact in jail, and he tells her how Trey Wagner and his friends were trying to export drugs. Kalinda calls Diane and Alicia to tell them about her discovery, and they deduce that if the drugs are already in Chicago and Trey's crew is trying to export them, then Cary could not be guilty of conspiracy.

Diane goes to court to present new evidence. Judge Cuesta said that he will consider rescinding Cary's guilty plea if they can supply evidence, but they only have six hours to get it.

Diane puts everyone on the team to work, and Kalinda finds one immediately—an email from Canadian police to Chicago authorities confirming Cary was being accused of setting up a crime already committed. However, the email wasn't actually received. Kalinda gets her tech guy working to make it appear as though the email was received.

In the end, it turns out that Kalinda didn't need to lie as Judge Cuesta dismissed the case based on real evidence presented to him, and Cary cries when he learns that he is free.

Here is the synopsis for episode 12 of "The Good Wife":

"Alicia and Frank Purdy square off in a crucial debate in the race for State's Attorney as Peter and the city of Chicago prepare for a potential riot."

"The Good Wife" airs Sundays at 9/8c on CBS.
