'The Jungle Book': Touching New Clip Sees Mowgli Leaving His Pack

A new clip released by Walt Disney Pictures is about to send fans reaching for handkerchiefs as Mowgli is seen bidding goodbye to the only mother he has ever known.

The movie stars Neel Sethi as Mowgli in a live-action version that will take moviegoers to a world where animals are either the kindest or the most fierce creatures on Earth.

In the new teaser, Bagheera (Ben Kingsley) tells the pack that Mowgli does not belong with them and he has to be returned to his own kind. In the story, Mowgli's presence ignited the anger of the fearsome tiger, Shere Khan (Idris Elba).

For those who know Rudyard Kipling's classic tale, Shere Khan's decisions are justifiable as the fierce and firm tiger bears the emotional and physical scars that Man etched on his life. According to Coming Soon, Shere Khan sees Mowgli as a threat as he remembers how Man once tried to destroy his freedom in the jungle.

The clip suggests that Mowgli was the one who initiated his farewell but as his adoptive mother, Raksha (Lupita Nyong'o) reveals that she is totally against the idea of the Man-cub leaving, Mowgli breaks down. "We are the only family he's ever known," the defiant mother says.

When Raksha says "You will always be my son," Mowgli puts his hands on the white wolf's mane and pulls her head to his. The mother-and-son stay close and shed tears for the clip's most tearful few seconds.

The movie will feature Mowgli's adventures as he leaves the wild and travels to the world where he belongs. He will be guided by Bagheera and Baloo (Bill Murray) as he tries to fend off the creatures and environment from the place he calls home.

Along the way to Man's abode, Mowgli will meet King Louie (Christopher Walken), who will try to get him to spill the secret of fire.

"The Jungle Book" hits the big screens on April 15, 2016.
