'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' DLC Tips & Tricks: 'The Champions' Ballad' Enemy Boss Has One Funny Weakness
A gamer recently discovered one funny way to distract the enemy boss in "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's" downloadable content game "The Champions' Ballad."
The second DLC of the two-part expansion content for "Breath of the Wild" was released earlier this month. And after a couple of weeks, a secret feature was discovered that could be helpful when gamers come face to face with "The Champions' Ballad" enemy boss, Monk Maz Koshia.
In a 17-second video shared by YouTube channel Gaming Reinvented, players saw how Monk Maz Koshia was easily distracted by a bunch of bananas.
In the demo video, the player carried three mighty bananas with him during The Divine Trial. After the protagonist placed the bananas on the ground, Monk Maz Koshia was heard making a funny sound and running towards them.
This effective distraction can buy players time to launch the best possible attack while Monk Maz Koshia has his eyes on the yellow fruit.
It is important to note that this very simple trick does not mean Monk Maz Koshia will be defeated all at once. However, when used with the right timing, this can greatly help in weakening the enemy boss.
In a more comprehensive video by another YouTube channel, GameXplain, it was discussed how this simple and funny trick is related to why the Yiga Clan loves bananas so much.
While going through quests in "The Champions' Ballad," many players have noticed that the same trick works against members of the Yiga Clan. According to GameXplain's video, the Yigas' love for bananas has been confirmed by game producer Eiji Aonuma and director Hideomaro Fujibayashi.
In an interview for the Switch news channel, Aonuma and Fujibayashi were asked why the Yiga Clan loved bananas. With a laugh, Aonuma reportedly said that this was a fact that has not been discussed by creators of the game since the beginning of the franchise.
The game's director recalled that the Yiga Clan were formerly members of the Sheikah tribe, according to "The Legend of Zelda's" main plot. He confirmed that members of that particular tribe loved bananas 10,000 years ago.
Fujibayashi confirmed that this was evident in one of the scenes in "The Champions' Ballad," though he did not identify it at the time of the interview.
"Breath of the Wild" is now available on Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
