'The Librarians' Season 2 Spoilers: Jacob Stone Steps Up As Cassandra Gains Confidence – What Does This Mean To The Team?
The action-adventure TV series, "The Librarians" has returned to TNT for its second season, with its premiere episode airing last November 1. At the start of the season, the original librarian Flynn Carsen (Noah Wyle) and former NATO agent Eve Baird (Rebecca Romjin) continue to work together in missions, while the three other librarians are off on solo missions. Events lead to the team being reunited once again and while Flynn is off searching for missing artifacts of the Library, Eve is left with the three librarians to continue the work of the Library, which is to search for important artifacts and knowledge and protect the rest of humanity from threats of the supernatural nature, brought about by the artifacts they encounter.
With Flynn gone, Eve is left to lead the team, which consists of Jacob Stone (Christian Kane), Cassandra Cillian (Lindy Booth), and Ezekiel Jones (John Kim). Each of them brings their own contribution to the team. While Stone is a genius and an Art History expert, Cillian is a mathematician who suffers from hallucinations because of her brain tumor. Jones, on the other hand, is a skilled thief and knows his way around technology. Eve is designated the guardian of the team and the Library.
In the third episode aired last November 8, Jacob "Jake" Stone's back story was in focus. A report in Yibada said that Jake encounters his father face to face in the episode, where his father, Isaac, plays a role in unleashing a shapeshifter while working on a pipeline in Oklahoma. The librarians are involved because the pipeline is said to be destroying Native American artifacts. According to the report, this is just the start of Jake's back story as his character will continue to be developed in the current season. His father, Isaac, is also said to appear in the coming episodes which means a continuation of Jake and his family story.
The other character in focus in season 2, according to a report in Venture Capital Post, is librarian Cassandra. The first revelation that has happened so far is that Cassandra has already picked a day when she will die, which she had earlier chosen when the doctors first told her of her tumor. As the season continues, she is said to discover what she can do with her abilities. According to the same Yibada report, Cassandra's connection to the ancient magic will also be revealed, as she herself begins to gain confidence about what she can do.
"The Librarians" air every Sunday on TNT.
