'The Originals' Season 3 Spoilers: Show to Have Crossover With 'Vampire Diaries'; Klaus Out For Revenge
The return of the American supernatural TV series "The Originals" to the small screen for the second half of season 3 is already near and fans are excited to catch the new episodes, especially since reports say that a "Vampire Diaries" crossover is going to happen.
According to TVLine, the moment that fans have been waiting for has finally been confirmed. CW President Mark Pedowitz confirmed that a crossover will happen this season.
"You will see, organically, a crossover this year," Pedowitz confirmed. "Not of the size and scope of we do with 'Arrow' and 'Flash'. They have to make sense [story-wise]."
Executive producer Julie Plec also divulged that the story will probably start with Stefan (Paul Wesley) visiting the French Quarter in order to find a sanctuary from magic. The event is connected to the plot in season 7 episode 14 of "The Vampire Diaries."
To those who can remember, Stefan needed a mystical safe haven at that time and his choice of destination was at The St. James Infirmary, which is a magic-free bar. This is when he will cross paths with Klaus (Joseph Morgan). Plec calls the meetup of the two as the "reunion of the Bourbon buddies."
In another note, "The Originals" will be picking up from the last episode's events. In season 3 episode 9, fans saw how Klaus and Camille (Leah Pipes) finally confessing their love for each other. But it didn't last long as Camille was killed. She died in Klaus' arms.
According to International Business Times, the upcoming new episode will be all about revenge as Klaus will be hunting the one responsible for Camille's death. The promo video released for episode 10 also showed Klaus and his brother Elijah (Daniel Gillies) united together to stand up against their enemies.
"The Originals" season 3 episode 10 titled "A Ghost Along the Mississippi" will air on Friday, Jan. 29 on The CW.
