'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' News: New Episode Recap 'The Countdown Begins'
On last Sunday's episode of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," Phaedra decides that she doesn't want her sons to visit Apollo once he turns himself in to serve his 8-year prison sentence, and Apollo accuses Phaedra of having an affair.
Days before he reports to prison, Apollo visits his lawyer to tie up some loose ends. They discuss Apollo filing for divorce, since Phaedra has not filed since she's scared that he might do something drastic once she does.
Phaedra consults her friend and therapist Dr. Gregory Lunceford on how to tell Ayden and Dylan that their father is about to go to jail and won't be around for eight years. She also reveals that she doesn't want the boys to visit their father in prison because of the unsavory element, and she herself is not interested in seeing Apollo while he's incarcerated. Dr. Lunceford tells her that it's not a good idea to keep the boys away from their father. Later, Apollo accuses Phaedra of having an affair. He threatens to burn the house down. Fearing for their safety, Regina, Phaedra's mother, urges her to take the boys and leave the house.
Meanwhile, Kandi is in a bad mood after learning that ticket sales for her play, "A Mother's Love," have been less than stellar, causing the promoter to pull out. Todd asks her why she didn't check the promoter's credentials before getting him for the project. Now, Kandi is worried that everyone who was involved in the show's production won't be getting paid because of this.
Claudia and Porsha attend a Dish Nation event, and since they're both working for the Rickey Smiley family, Claudia feels that they should be able to get past their differences and work on being friends. But Porsha is having none of it and can't forget about what happened in Puerto Rico.
"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
