'The Real Housewives of New York City': Luann D'Agostino On Tinsley Mortimer
Bravo's "The Real Housewives of New York City" aired the premiere episode of its ninth season on Wednesday, April 5. And with the new season's launch comes the addition of a new cast member — former New York City socialite Tinsley Mortimer.
In an interview with People ahead of the season's premiere, cast member Luann D'Agostino opened about the newest Housewife in the reality show.
"You know how socialites, you know them just a little? You're aware of them, you meet them, you don't get to spend a heck of a lot of time with them or get to know them really well," D'Agostino explained. "So I think her biggest challenge is integrating with a group of women like this, who have a history and have many years of working together and being friends ... really just infiltrating this cast."
D'Agostino went on to say that Mortimer was able to hold her own while appearing with other cast members who have significantly longer experiences on the show compared to her.
"She's a little younger, she's dating, she's reinventing herself in New York from her past and moving forward," D'Agostino said. "I admire girls who change it up, switch it up and move forward — really fast."
According to E! News, Mortimer is the daughter of a real estate mogul and grew up in Richmond, Virginia. She attended boarding school in New Jersey where she met her first husband, Topper Mortimer. The ex-couple eloped after graduation and moved to New York City, where she attended and graduated from Columbia University.
Mortimer worked as a beauty assistant at Vogue before she went into public relations and turned into a known socialite. She became a Dior beauty ambassador and even launched her own branded apparel. In the past, she was often dubbed as New York City's next "It Girl." She previously appeared in her own reality show on The CW, "High Society."
"The Real Housewives of New York City" airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.
