'The Real Housewives of New York' News: Bethenny Frankel Takes Short Break After Helping Hurricane Maria Victims
Bethenny Frankel recently took some time off after helping Hurricane Maria victims in Puerto Rico.
"The Real Housewives of New York" star is one of the people who personally went to the Caribbean island, which was ravaged by Hurricane Maria in September. Despite her celebrity status, Frankel went to Houston, Puerto Rico and Mexico earlier this month to help those in need.
Following her relief efforts, Frankel has been spotted having a little down time alone in Miami. Bravo's Jet Set reported that the businesswoman sported a white bikini and topper as she relaxed poolside at the Faena Hotel. Speaking with the publication, Frankel admitted that it's difficult to imagine she will be off duty for a long time.
"You can't wait for someone to tell you what you're allowed to do [when people are dying] — you gotta just go," she told the media outlet.
Frankel's comment comes just weeks after she chartered four planes leaving from Miami, New Jersey and Fort Lauderdale to donate food, water, medical supplies, insulin, toys and other necessities for the hurricane victims. She also gave away $25,000 in cash gift cards and cash (courtesy of Yieldstreet), as well as $30,000 in Costco gift cards.
According to the Skinnygirl creator, she and her team were able to raise $15 million in total for donations and planes. Her heroic helpers included Bobby Rodrigo, Omar Rosario, Michael Capponi, Eve Green, Maria Menounos, Margie Arbizo, Saira Rivas, Nicole Castrillo, Jill J, along with other members of the nonprofit Global Empowerment Mission and Guardians of Rescue.
In addition, "The Real Housewives" producer Andy Cohen and radio personality Elvis Duran have made generous donations to the Hurricane Maria victims via Frankel's B Strong initiative.
"The Real Housewives of New York" season 10 is expected to premiere early 2018 on Bravo. An exact release date has yet to be announced by the network.
